The fight of his life

This fall it will be 25 years since I met this guy. Our life has been full of twists and turns, laughter and more than a few tears. Last night we watched a video together as a family that portrayed the feeding of the 5000 and Jesus walking on water and urging Peter to keep his eyes on the Lord rather than the fierce storm that raged all around. He is a God of miracles – I know that, and I will trust Him with every twist and turn. He knows the end from the beginning, and has the power to either calm the waves or to calm us as we weather the storm.

Tonight and in the coming days, my Dave and our family could use the power of your prayers. Some memory issues noted a couple of weeks ago escalated causing us enough concern that we made a trip to the ER tonight, and we now know we are at the beginning of a difficult process with an uncertain outcome. Different situation than one we faced together with our son almost 20 years ago, but likely a more familiar journey for us than I can think about right now. The coming days will tell us what the neurosurgeons feel is the next step to address the large mass found on Dave’s scans.

Please don’t reach out to Dave. He needs to rest and focus on the fight of his life. I may or may not be able to reply to messages or comments, but please know that we both appreciate every positive thought & prayer.
