Description
This handmade abstract carving of the Holy Family with St. Joseph holding a lantern over the head of the Infant Jesus reveals how Christ, the light of the world, descended to be cared for and nurtured by His mother, the Virgin Mary, and his foster father, Joseph. He who had all knowledge and would illuminate and teach the world the way of salvation willed to be “illuminated” or taught by a Jewish carpenter in a human family. This statue is an image of Christ’s humility and an inspiration to lovingly glorify God who needs no light of ours to bring us His eternal light.
